During his visit to Varna, His Excellency Emil Karimov, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Bulgaria, will visit Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" and will meet with the President of the University, Prof. D.Sc. Anna Nedyalkova and the Academic Board.

His Excellency Ambassador Karimov is arriving at Varna Free University at 9:30 am on 4 April (Friday). During his visit, topics of mutual interest related to the opportunities that the University offers for training to foreign students will be discussed, as well as various forms of inter-academic cooperation and exchange, and the opportunities for cooperation with Azerbaijan as a partner country within the programmes Erasmus + and Horizon 2020.
The programme of the guest includes also looking around the training facilities of Varna Free University and visit to the Russian Centre of the University.
Ambassador Karimov is on an official visit to Bulgaria on 3 and 4 April 2014. His programme includes a visit to the Naval Academy, meetings with the mayor of Varna, Ivan Portnih, Ivan Velikov, district governor, and representatives of the Bulgarian Chamber of Shipping, the Varna Chamber of Commerce, Varna Tourist Chamber, the Bulgarian Construction Chamber, and the Bulgarian Industrial Association.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Bulgaria, His Excellency Emil Zulfugar oglu Karimov was born in Baku in 1966.
He graduated from the Faculty of History at the Azerbaijan State University. Nearly eight years he has worked as a researcher at the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of the country. His diplomatic career began in 1995 as a third secretary in the Department of Europe, USA and Canada at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His first overseas mission was in Turkey from 1998 to 2002, where he ascended to the first secretary of the Embassy of Azerbaijan.
Before his visit to Bulgaria, he was Azerbaijan ambassador to Italy, San Marino and Malta. He has been an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Bulgaria since October 2010.
