PROF. DOBRINKA CHANKOVA, PHD WITH AWARD FOR CONTRIBUTION TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF MEDIATION IN BULGARIA

Prof. Dobrinka Chankova, PhD – a lecturer in the Law department of Varna Free University, received a special award for her contribution to the establishment and development of the National Association of Mediators. The award was presented to her during the solemn celebration of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the organization – the national coordinator of mediation policies.

The event was held in the presence of representatives of the Ministry of Justice, the Ombudsman, heads of municipalities and schools, scientists, professional organizations of mediators and individual mediators. Prof. Chankova, who is among the founders and a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Mediators, also received an address of thanks for her inspired and consistent work to promote mediation as a modern method for peaceful, fast and effective conflict resolution.

Just a month earlier, Prof. Dobrinka Chankova, PhD was also awarded the Academic Award of the Global Academy for Training and Research during the 17th Global Conference on Business and Social Sciences in Indonesia. The international recognition is for her active research and teaching activities in the field of criminal and restorative justice and mediation.

The author of over a hundred scientific papers, Prof. Chankova is an established researcher and public figure, whose work contributes to building a new culture of dialogue, trust and cooperation in society.
