Prof. Dr. Velislava Nikolaeva conducted trainings for the team of the Vocational High School in Agriculture "Todor Rachinski"

Prof. Dr. Velislava Nikolaeva from the Department of Administration and Management at Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” conducted two specialized training sessions with the teaching staff of the Vocational High School in Agriculture “Todor Rachinski” in the town of Genaral Toshevo - an established Center of Excellence in vocational education in Bulgaria.

The first training, titled Mediation and Communication in the Educational Institution,’ was held under Regulation No. 15 of July 22, 2019 and focused on developing a positive school culture, conflict resolution, and effective internal communication through the application of mediation techniques. The second training, ‘Project-Based Learning Through Coaching and Mediation,’ combined theoretical foundations with practical methods and was implemented under the National Programme ‘Modernization of Vocational Education and Training,’ part of the “Education” Programme 2021–2027.

Prof. Nikolaeva is a certified mediator with long-standing academic and practical experience in the fields of management, leadership, coaching, and educational innovation. She specializes in school mediation and coaching and applies approaches aimed at developing school teams, building learning communities, and supporting innovation processes in education.

The Vocational High School in Agriculture “Todor Rachinski” and Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” have a long-standing partnership, working together on various initiatives to advance vocational education. In February 2024, the high school hosted a meeting for the exchange of innovative educational practices as part of the national programme ‘Innovations in Action,’ with the university participating as a strategic partner.

Varna Free University actively collaborates with more than 10 Centers of Excellence in vocational education and training across the country. Through training, joint projects, and mentoring support, the university fosters cooperation between the academic community and schools to improve the quality of education and prepare professionals who meet the needs of the modern labour market.
