In October, the Department of Civil Law at the Faculty of Law of Varna Free University continued the tradition of public lectures, which present current topics in contemporary labour law and law of obligation and encourage academic debate between teachers, students and practitioners.

Assoc. Prof. Hristo Banov, PhD delivered a lecture to students and teachers on the topic "Dismissal on no-fault grounds, where the reason for the termination of the employment contract lies with the employer". In his presentation, he examined the three no-fault grounds for termination of the employment relationship, regulated in the Labor Code - closure of the enterprise, closure of part of the enterprise and reduction of the staff. Assoc. Prof. Banov also drew attention to internal reorganization as a specific form of change, which, although not explicitly regulated as a ground for termination, gives rise to a number of legal issues and practical difficulties.

Senior Asst. Prof. Borislav Ganchev, PhD pdelivered the public lecture "The Law on insolvency of Individuals", part of the series of initiatives of the department. The topic aroused wide interest among the students and guests, who discussed the latest aspects of the legal status of individuals in insolvency.
