RALITSA VASILEVA WAS A GUEST OF THE ARCHITECTURE MONTH AT VARNA FREE UNIVERSITY
28 May 2026
One of the most recognizable Bulgarian journalists with an international career – Ralitsa Vasileva, was a guest of the architecture month at varna free university “Chernorizets Hrabar”. The meeting with the students was held under the Erasmus+ programme and aroused extremely great interest among young people from the Architecture and Graphic Design specialties.
For two decades, Ralitsa Vasileva was the face of the global news television CNN, where she covered some of the most significant international events and interviewed world leaders, public figures and individuals with global influence. Today, she teaches public speaking, communication and presentation skills at the University of Georgia, USA, and dedicates her professional experience to preparing the new generation of communicators.
Her lecture at Varna Free University focused on the ability to present ideas clearly, convincingly and impactfully – a quality that is of key importance in journalism, architecture and the visual arts.
“Even the best project loses its power if it cannot be told and defended in front of people,” Ralitsa Vasileva shared during the meeting with the students.
She emphasised that the modern world places increasingly high demands on the communication skills of young professionals. According to her, the architect, the designer and the journalist have a common mission – to create meaning, to influence and to build a connection with people through their work.
During the lecture, Ralitsa Vasileva provided practical guidelines for public presentation, building confidence in front of an audience and structuring a strong message. Through concrete examples from her long-standing practice in international journalism, she showed how professionalism, preparation and authenticity build trust.
The meeting turned into an active dialogue with the students, who had the opportunity to ask questions related to communication in the digital environment, the role of the media, artificial intelligence and the challenges facing young professionals in the global world.
Ralitsa Vasileva also paid attention to the changing media environment, in which algorithms increasingly determine the flow of information, and the ability to be critical, prepared and authentic becomes even more valuable. She encouraged students to develop their own style, to defend their ideas confidently and to seek professions through which they contribute to society.
Her visit to Varna Free University became one of the most inspiring meetings in the programme of the Month of Architecture. For the students, it was an opportunity to touch the professional path and experience of a world-class journalist, as well as to understand the importance of communication as part of modern professional realization.
The visit of Ralitsa Vasileva once again confirmed the aspiration of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" to meet its students with bright personalities from the international academic, cultural and professional environment, who inspire young people to develop knowledge, confidence and an active civic position.
