For the seventh consecutive year, renowned lecturers from the Department of Arts at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" were part of the jury at the Folk Customs and Authentic Costumes Festival, which took place over the weekend in the historic town of Kostina near the village of Ribaritsa.
Assoc. Prof. Kapka Manasieva, PhD, Head of the Department of Arts, Assoc. Prof. Ivaylo Ivanov, PhD and Assoc. Prof. Katya Kayryakova, PhD - lecturers in Choreography at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar", rated the talents in two categories: up to 14 years old and from 14 to 104 years old. The event provoked the interest of students majoring in "Choreography".
Dance and singing ensembles from all over Bulgaria gathered at the place where Georgi Benkovski died. The aim of the festival is to popularize the Bulgarian customs and traditions by presenting dances, songs and through a special parade of participants in costumes from different regions, made by master craftsmen. The village of Ribaritsa is the guardian of the authentic Bulgarian folklore and the initiator of the holiday. Located in the wonderful nature of Stara Planina Mountain, the place is unique in its beauty and sets all tourists at ease to enjoy and feel the lifestyle and folklore of the Bulgarians in the beautiful nature that surrounds the picturesque village.
