Another project in favor of students studying foreign languages at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" was successful due to the cooperation between Varna Free University and the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudichestvo).
Sergey Andreevich Savin, who is from Moscow and studies at the Moscow State Pedagogical University, is doing an internship at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar". He is in Bulgaria as the winner of the national competition in Russia, announced by Rossotrudichestvo - "Master's Students of Russian Language". The internship abroad is the award for the finalists who have had the opportunity to choose between different universities in India, Nepal, Mongolia, Finland, Slovakia, Armenia. Savin chose Bulgaria and Varna Free University because of the similarity between Bulgarian and Russian languages, the rich collection of preserved written monuments, beautiful scenery, the sea and Bulgarian hospitality. Host of the young Russian scientist is the Foreign Language Teaching Department at the University.
“Varna Free University welcomed me extremely well. There is a creative, motivating atmosphere here that inspires both students and teachers", says the guest from Russia and expresses his gratitude to his adviser in Bulgaria - Prof. Dr. Galina Shamonina. He is impressed by the excellent communication both in the academic environment and between teachers and young people. He likes the modern educational infrastructure, the Russian center, the accommodation, the organization of the educational process and the unlimited opportunities for scientific work that the university offers.
As a native speaker, Sergei Savin has classes in Russian with students from VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar". "They are disciplined, tactful and highly motivated to achieve high results," says the master's student from Moscow. He was greatly impressed by the young people's desire to study Russian language and culture. "Bulgaria, and in particular Varna, refute the common opinion that the Russian language is losing popularity", says he.
Sergei Savin started his career as a journalist 10 years ago. He worked in various Russian media. After that, he realized that he needed more serious and deeper knowledge of his native Russian language. He became interested in the rules in the language, its structure and change. "Journalism uses language, but does not immerse in it," said Savin. His field of scientific interest became the language realms - the lexical units and phraseology in Russian - these are objects and phenomena
