Dear members of the academic leadership of Varna Free University,Dear partners and friends of the university
Dear parents, dear students,
Allow me first of all to welcome you to the celebration with which we mark the beginning of the new 2025-2026 academic year. The opening of each academic year is an event filled with many emotions, expectations and new plans. The excitement for our newly admitted students is particularly strong. Naturally, they combine optimism from the life choices they have made with fear of the unknown and the scale of the responsibility they have assumed. First of all, I want to assure you that you have made the best choice for your future and from today you also have the irreplaceable support of our academic community. The role of private educational institutions in Bulgaria is to provide an alternative to young people. They are initiators of innovations. Usually, new directions in the development of education appear for the first time in them. In private schools and universities, new systems and methods of training are first developed and applied. They define Varna Free University as a laboratory for testing innovative methods for training specialists in the field of higher education and young scientists. VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" has long been an established institution in scientific and educational circles. Contact with young people has always been a challenge. The opportunity to pass on knowledge and experience to them, to participate in their development as individuals and to follow their career growth is one of the main motives for us.
Proof of this is the fact that even in this year, burdened with many crises, difficulties and challenges, VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" can boast of a successfully conducted student admissions campaign and, despite the crises and turmoil in state universities, to stand in one of the top places in terms of the number of first-year students. This success is due to the fact that the university has high requirements, what has been achieved is being upgraded and the process of transformation is continuous.
Dear colleagues, I express my deep gratitude to all of you for the efforts you have made to make this a reality.
A trademark of the University is the fact that often lecturers are guest lecturers from foreign universities, postgraduates, interns, business representatives. This is our way of striking a balance between the work and the quality of scientific research and creating a high-tech environment based on world scientific achievements. Here, of course, is the invaluable help we receive from our partners and spiritual companions. Special thanks to you too.
And you, dear first-year students, who are crossing the threshold of our Alma Mater today, try to integrate yourselves into an academic process of accumulating knowledge and a long path to the horizons of scientific truth and professionalism. Be persistent and dedicated to achieve it. Without dedication and personal empathy, without faith and conviction, there are no good results. Sometimes you will encounter difficulties, but follow your path! My colleagues, who have a responsibility to you and your future, will help you in this. Strive, dear freshmen, to form not only talent, but also character, using for this purpose the life chances that Varna Free University will offer you! The knowledge that you will accumulate in different fields will give you the measure of how far you can use other people's experience and to what extent you should stick to your own, because communicating with your opponent can give rise to hesitation and uncertainty, but it will give you enrichment and personal growth.
