STUDENTS FROM VARNA FREE UNIVERSITY ACHIEVED SUCCESS IN THE "SUMMER UNIVERSITY SPORTS GAMES 2025" IN ALBENA

Students from Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" actively participated in the "Summer University Sports Games 2025", which took place in the Albena resort complex, organised by the University Sports Association "Academic". The event brought together over 320 participants from 14 universities in the national championships in swimming, beach volleyball, beach football, beach tennis, 3x3 basketball, table tennis, dodgeball, badminton and beach relay.
Maria Koleva, student of Psychology, brought a bronze medal for the university in swimming, in the 100 m backstroke. The representative pair in women's beach volleyball – the Architecture students Ivet Gavrailova and Veselina Kotseva - entered the semifinals after impressive victories. The Law students Alexander Predev and Martin Predev also made a successful debut in the beach volleyball discipline, as well as Martin Mihov in beach tennis.
The university's football team, consisting of Mario Mitkov - Student Council representative and team scorer, Viktor Nikolov, Petar Atanasov, Okan Osman, Martin Mihov, Hristomir Hristov and Kocho Kochev, received recognition for the "most correct team" of the games. Nine students participated in the beach relay, including Defne Dzhalil, and their preparation was assisted by the teacher Victoria Petkova.
A total of 16 students from Varna Free University participated in the prestigious sports event, demonstrating sportsmanship, team play and ambition for development. The "Summer University Sports Games" showed that sport is not only a competition, but also an opportunity for new friendships, fair play and building resilience outside the academic environment.
The head of the teams of our university is the teacher Anelia Sinabova.
