Students from Varna Free University presented the tradition of martenitsa to foreign students

For the second year, the team of the Student Council at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" teaches a master class on making martenitsa with foreigners in the preparatory course for language and specialized training, who are studying at the Department of Foreign Language Education and Postgraduate Qualification.

The event is part of the initiatives to promote cultural exchange and cooperation between students. Under the management of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dimitar Marinov, the participants were introduced to the rich symbolism and legends associated with the martenitsa - a symbol of unity and spring in Bulgarian culture.

Students Ivanina Dimitrova (majoring in Law), Iva Yaneva (majoring in Law) and Ilina Ilieva (majoring in Psychology) shared their skills and experience in making different types of martenitsa with the other participants. The girls' creativity inspired those present. The event not only strengthened the bonds between students from different cultures, but also encouraged diversity and creativity in the educational environment.

The Martenitsa workshop also has another goal - charity. Many of the pieces of Martenitsa made by the Bulgarian and the foreign students will be donated to the Gergana retirement home in Varna.
