STUDENTS FROM VFU "CHERNORIZETS HRABAR" EXHIBIT THEIR WORK NEXT TO KEY FIGURES IN THE PRESTIGUOUS EXHIBITION “NEW BULGARIAN TYPOGRAPHY"

The third edition of the exhibition "New Bulgarian Typography" is now in Varna. The opening of the key event in the area of design is on May 7th, at 6 pm in the City Art Gallery "Boris Georgiev". The exposition consists of 75 panels and the people of Varna can visit it until May 27th - in the days when we celebrate the Bulgarian alphabet, enlightment and culture and Slavic literature.
„New Bulgarian Typography“ presents the achievements of key Bulgarian authors in the field of calligraphy, lettering, typography design and typography after 2019. Because of the strong interest towards typography in the last years it became possible for many authors to show their achievements and set higher criteria as well raised the expectations of the public. The exposition presents 60 authors from various fields of font art, who create the contemporary appearance of modern Bulgarian typography.
A special placed in the prestigious exhibition is given to students and lecturers in Graphic Design at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" 18 students of the university will present their work in 28 panels, next to key designers of fonts and typography in Bulgaria. The exhibition includes works of 3rd and 4th year students, as well as some of the alumni of the university: Anastasia Maksimova, Valentina Valentinova, Vanessa Sabkova, Victor Vasiliev, Volodymyr Fedotov, Evelina Golemanova, Emily Dimitrova, Yoanna Hristova, Katerina Dimitrova, Lora Vasilyeva-Panayotova, Milena Kozhukharova, Nadezhda Hristova, Petar Tsvetkov, Ralitsa Angelova, Samuil Stoyanov, Svetoslava Hristova, Simona Chakrova and Tanya Anesteva.
Here we can see and work of established names in art and graphic design, and teachers in the specialty - Ani Dimitrova, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Victor Petkov and Iliyan Nachev.
The inspirer and curator of the exhibition "New Bulgarian Typography" is Kirill Zlatkov - one of the key Bulgarian visual artists - an artist, graphic artist, painter, poster artist, illustrator, photographer and graphic designer, a master in calligraphy and fonts. Kirill Zlatkov is attracted by everything, connected with the art of books. He is one of the inspirer and author of the manifest "For the Bulgarian Cyrillic Alphabet", creator of the idea on the project "Hidden letters", which combines typography with poetry and urban environment, that successfully went through a few European countries.
The exhibition in Varna is organized with the cooperation of Ani Dimitrova and Victor Petkov from Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", Dimitar Traychev and the management of the City Art Gallery “Boris Georgiev” in Varna.
