The concert-performance 'March 3rd - Spirit and Memory' will take place on March 3rd, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. in Hall 1 of the Festival and Congress Center in Varna. The event, organized by the Municipality of Varna in partnership with the Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", will be a celebration that will touch the hearts of everyone. The concert is free!

On the stage of Hall 1 of the FCC, we will also see performances by singer Silvia Georgieva, representative ensembles, the bagpipe orchestra and the choir at the Secondary School for Humanities and Arts "Konstantin Preslavski" and the ensemble "Bulgarians". "The concert "Spirit and Memory" emphasizes the significance of the events of Bulgarian history that make us proud Bulgarians," commented Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivaylo Ivanov, Head of "Artistic and Creative Activities" at Varna Free University.

Traditionally, the concert performances dedicated to the National Day of our country in Varna are the work of the Academic Dance Theater at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar", which is not only a "pearl in the university crown" in arts education, but also a symbol of preserved Bulgarian traditions and an innovative stage approach. This year, the students majoring in Choreography have prepared inspiring moments from Bulgarian folklore, which will weave history, faith and the Bulgarian spirit into the dance.

The Academic Dance Theater makes memorable performances that attract the interest of the audience in Varna and the country. It is a creative laboratory for choreography students, in which they improve their skills under the guidance of key lecturers and professionals in the field of folklore dances. As part of their training, students study the traditions of various ethnographic areas, master the stylistic features of folk dances and participate in real stage projects. Professional training allows them to find a place among the key Bulgarian ensembles and to create their own creative solutions for the preservation and popularization of folklore art. The Academic Dance Theater at Varna Free University is a winner of prestigious awards, including the Varna Award and the Golden Lyre of the Union of Bulgarian Music and Dance Artists.

"The training in Choreography at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" is distinguished by the active cooperation with some of the most prestigious folklore ensembles in the country. Students work with established choreographers and performers, which provides them with invaluable practical experience and broad prospects for professional development. Nearly 500 are the graduates of the professional field Music and Dance Art over the past 30 years, and the interest in the specialty and training at Varna Free University is constantly growing. 90 out of 100 graduates of Choreography are employed professionally, a large part of them work as managers or choreographers of ensembles, folk dance clubs, etc. - as teachers of Bulgarian dances in secondary education", said Assoc. Prof. Ivanov.
The concert-performance 'March 3rd - Spirit and Memory' promises to be a celebration of creativity and an exciting emotional experience that will remind all attendees of the important lessons of history and the unchanging spirit of the Bulgarian nation!
