The Academic Dance Theater at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" took part in the "Holidays of Professional Folklore Music and Dance Art - Burgas 2026" with an impressive concert-performance on the stage of the State Opera - Burgas.
The event, established as the most significant forum for professional folklore art in our country, brought together the leading ensembles, who presented the wealth and powerfulness of the Bulgarian tradition to a wide audience and the professional community.
The holidays are organized by the PFA "Strandzha" - Burgas, with chief artistic director Mario Egov - a lecturer in Choreography and an expert in practice at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar".
The stage came alive with energy and inspiration during the joint concert of the Academic Dance Theater at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" and the Student Folklore Ensemble at the South - West University "Neofit Rilski" - Blagoevgrad. The young artists presented a programme full of dynamics, emotion and respect for the folklore heritage.
The creative team from the university that realized the performance is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivaylo Ivanov – Director of Artistic and Creative Activities, Senior Asst. Prof. Dr. Dylyan Galev – Choreographer of the Academic Dance Theater, Asst. Prof. Dragni Dragnev – Leader of the Bagpipe Orchestra.
The audience’s thunderous applause and the high appreciation of the professional community were the clearest proof that when tradition meets youth, art that inspires and remains in the hearts is born.
The students from the Academic Dance Theater are university scholarship holders – recognition for their talent, work and dedication to art.
