The Academic Dance Theatre of Varna Free University celebrated its 20th anniversary with a spectacular music and dance performance
On 28 April 2018, the temple of dance art "Chernorizets Hrabar" Academic Dance Theatre opened the door to its audience with the music and dance performance"From the Soul the Dance Springs"dedicated to the 20th anniversary of its foundation.
Founded in 1998 as a folk ensemble "Academica" three years after the start of the specialty of Choreography at Varna Free University in May 2008, the ensemble grew into "Chernorizets Hrabar" Academic Dance Theatre. For the 20 years of its existence it has established itself as an integral part of the cultural life of Varna and of the country and became a real temple of the folklore dance art.
For its brilliant achievements in the field of culture, the Academic Dance Theatre received a nomination for the Varna Award in theDance category. On the occasion of the anniversary and its transformation into one of the cultural institutions of Varna and of the country, enhancing the prestige of Varna Free University and encouraging student creativity, the Academic Dance Theatre was awarded with a certificate of achievement and honorary plaque with a decision of the Board of Trustees of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar".
The university graduates presented the beauty, the colorfulness and the deep soul of the Bulgarian national traditions under the artistic leadership of Prof. Petar Angelov, Ivaylo Ivanov, PhD and Assoc. Prof. Maria Kardzhieva, PhD. And to have this temple in the difficult times for Bulgarian art, the most important is the support of the academic management of Varna Free University and its mission to stimulate student creativity and build not only successful specialists but also people with a sense of art and Bulgarian traditions.
