„The Art of Communication“ Puts Artificial Intelligence in the Spotlight

The ongoing “The Art of Communication” forum, initiated by Assoc. Prof. Georgi Kalaglarski, continues with a masterclass by Dr. Arthur Gordon, dedicated to artificial intelligence and the interplay between technology, human thought, and societal development. The event will take place on October 2nd and 3rd, 2026, at Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar.”
The masterclass is organized by the Faculty of Social, Economic and Computer Sciences and the master’s degree programmes “Advertising and Public Relations in Business Management” and “Cultural Tourism Management”.
The topic “Artificial Intelligence. The Battle for the Future - Silicon Chips versus the Biological Brain” will focus on the development of generative and agentic artificial intelligence, the prospects for artificial general intelligence, and possible scenarios for interaction between humans and technology. Dr. Arthur Gordon will present his concepts to a Bulgarian audience for the first time.
Participants will explore the application of artificial intelligence as an assistant in developing communication strategies, analyzing corporate behavior, and forecasting public sentiment. Special attention will be given to reputation management and crisis communication, identifying fake news, automated media content analysis, and preventive measures in communication crises.
The practical programme includes the discussion “Adopt AI or Lose,” focusing on ethical boundaries, trust in generated content, and the impact of technology on professions in the creative sector. The format will create opportunities for exchanging ideas and engaging in an in-depth discussion about the skills people and organizations need in an era of accelerated technological development.
Dr. Arthur Gordon is a respected member of the international academic community in the field of applied artificial intelligence systems.
The first part of the masterclass will take place on October 2nd, from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the University’s Language Centre. The second part will be held on October 3rd, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Lecture Hall 3 of the Academic and Sports Complex.
