THE CHIEF INSPECTOR AT CYPRUS FIRE BRIGADE TRAINS STUDENTS IN "FIRE SAFETY AND PROTECTION OF POPULATION"

24 October 2019
Andreas Christofi is Chief Inspector at the Cyprus Fire Brigade. He is also the Director of the Cyprus Fire Safety Training School and a Fellow of the Fire Safety Institute.
He has a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Fire Safety Engineering from Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", along with nine other Cyprus firefighters.
The skills acquired during his university studies enable him to specialize in Stanford in the United Kingdom.

Today, Andreas Christofi talks about how firefighters need to have knowledge of construction, chemical materials and electricity as an expert in the practice of third-year students in the field of Fire Safety Engineering. They need to know how fire, smoke, pressure, resistance of materials behave. "Without this knowledge, we will lose lives in the fires, people we are responsible for," says the Cyprus firefighter.
Varna Free University also trained 300 Turkish firefighters, who are the first firefighters with a university degree in engineering in our southern neighbor country.
