THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE RUSSKIY MIR FOUNDATION ARRIVES AT VFU FOR THE 11TH INTERNATIONAL QUALIFICATION SCHOOL

The 11th  International Qualification School "Modern Pedagogical Technologies in Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language", which is one of the most successful projects of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" and the Russkiy Mir Foundation, will be held at the university from 19 to 23 August.
The event will be attended personally by Vladimir Kochin, executive director of the Russkiy Mir Foundation, who will open the forum on 19 August (Monday) at 11.15 am at the Russian Centre of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar". The International School is held under the patronage of the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of Varna Free University Prof. Anna Nedyalkova, D.Sc. and the President of the University Assoc. Prof. Krasimir Nedyalkov, PhD.
Among the guests who will attend the event are Vladimir Klimanov - Consul General of the Russian Federation in Varna, Olga Shirokova - Deputy Director of the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Bulgaria, Lilia Hristova - Director of the Directorate Education and Youth Activities in Varna Municipality, Ventseslava Genova - Head of the Regional Education Directorate in Varna, Nadia Kantareva-Baruh - Director of AzBuki Publishing House at the Ministry of Education and Science, Prof. Raisa Bogdanova - Head of the Educational Department of the Russian State Pedagogical University «Al. Herzen »in St. Petersburg, as well as lecturers from different Bulgarian universities and schools with Russian language teaching.
This year, the School's scientific staff, led by Prof. Galina Shamonina, PhD - Director of the Department of Foreign Language Teaching and Postgraduate Qualification and the Russian Centre of Varna Free University, welcomes its guests as the holder of the prestigious Varna Award in the field of Humanities, presented by the Varna Municipal Council.
For the 11th edition of the forum, young specialists in Russian studies from eight countries and 12 universities are coming to Varna Free University. The event will include the University of Belgrade (Serbia), Brest State University (Belarus), Budapest Eötvös Loránd University  (Hungary), University of Milan (Italy), the Pedagogical University of Poland, the Russian State Pedagogical University «Al. Herzen» and Masaryk University in the Czech Republic. Bulgaria is represented by lecturers and students of Varna Free University, Sofia University, New Bulgarian University, Plovdiv and Shumen Universities.
During the school, a round table discussion will be held entitled "Young Specialists in Russian Studies - an Important Part of Russkiy Mir", where the event will be moderated by Prof. Galina Shamonina, PhD. A rich cultural programme has been prepared for the participants and guests.
The 11th International Qualification School "Modern Pedagogical Technologies in Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language" has become a sustainable educational brand of the university over the past 11 years. There are 619 graduates from 30 European and Asian universities. It is a European-type school aimed at building the skills of the young specialist identified in the European Union reports: complex problem solving; critical thinking; creativity and innovation; people management; skills in dealing with new technologies; portfolio of language competencies and coordinated efforts.
