The Mayor of Shumen to the students majoring in Architecture at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar": "The city gives us unlimited opportunities for development"

"Welcome to Shumen - the city that will give you unlimited opportunities for development! It is a place for young people with innovative and fearless ideas and dreams, and we strive to create a supportive environment for them," said the Mayor of Shumen Municipality, Prof. Hristo Hristov, at the opening of the 'Business-Education-Administration' session, which was held in Shumen with students majoring in Architecture at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar".
The mayor offered to the Rector of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" Prof. Dr. Petar Hristov this event to become an annual competition, at which students can present to the business of Shumen and for the needs of the Industrial Park their architectural solutions for factories, production and warehouse facilities, infrastructure, etc., with the best ones being awarded prizes.
The Rector accepted the invitation and emphasized that it gives young specialists an excellent horizon, since their field is on the border between art and exact sciences and in addition to talent, hard work is needed, but also an encouraging environment for growth.
The Director of Industrial Park – Shumen, Nikolay Tonchev, presented key investors from the Park and added that business supports young people in their future professional path. He indicated that he would be happy to accept that the forum should grow into an annual competition and that the Industrial Park will assign real tasks to young architects to be implemented in the Park.
The students presented their solutions interactively and through modern visual solutions. Spas Spasov demonstrated an architectural design for the Shumen - Industrial Park Bus Station, Milena Georgieva - for a warehouse with an administrative part, Monika Alexandrova - a perfume and cosmetics factory, Teya Tsvetanova - a pet food production plant, Dimana Yotovska showed a project for a plush toy factory, Dorothea Dimitrova - a production building for confectionery and chocolate products, Tsvetan Mitev - a factory for the production of machine parts, Slavena Karabogdanova - a shoe factory commissioned by a specific investor. The projects were implemented under the management of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arch. Tsveta Zhekova, who is also the Chief Architect of the Shumen Municipality, and Chief Asst. Prof. Dr. Arch. Petar Nikolov.
The Mayor Prof. Hristo Hristov presented a cash award to the entire group of students as a sign of support and encouragement for their efforts. Earlier in the day in the Shumen Municipality, he and the rector of Varna Free University signed a cooperation agreement. The signing was also attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eleonora Tankova – Vice-Rector for Institutional Cooperation and Development at VFU, Deputy Mayors of Shumen Municipality and the Chief Architect of the Municipality Tsveta Zhekova.
