The Smolyan Branch of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" is Hosting a National Conference on Olympic Education

The Smolyan branch of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" will host the national conference on the topic 'Perspectives and Opportunities for the Development of the Olympic Education in Universities'. The event, which will take place from 4 to 6 October 2024, brings together lecturers, students and sports specialists from all over the country to discuss the future of the Olympic education and its impact on academic and sports training in Bulgarian educational institutions. In addition to lecturers from various universities, teachers of physical education and sports from the Rhodope region, as well as students and lecturers from VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" will take part.  Prof. Lozan Mitev, chairperson of the National Olympic Academy of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee will be the speaker at the conference. The event will be opened by Belcho Goranov, Secretary General of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee. They both will share their experience and vision for the integration of Olympic values ​​in the educational system of the country.

Within the framework of the conference in the Smolyan branch, the exhibition 'From Paris to Paris' dedicated to the Summer Olympic Games in the French capital and the 100th anniversary of the recognition of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will be opened. The exhibition, which contains 13 thematic panels, traces the history of the Olympic movement from the first games in Paris to the Olympic Games in 2024. In July, it was presented at Varna Free University and will now be exhibited at the Smolyan branch.


Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", which is among the partner universities of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee, actively supports initiatives aimed at popularizing Olympic values ​​and strengthening the ties between education and sports.
