Speech of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Krasimir Nedyalkov - President of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", during the graduation ceremony of Class'2022:
Dear Graduates,
Dear Academic Management,
colleagues, lecturers and staff of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar,
Dear guests, parents and relatives of the graduates,
Welcome to the official graduation ceremony of the students of Class 2022. Thank you for honoring with your presence another graduating class of 533 specialists, who today are worthy to join the invaluable human capital of the nation. This day is a significant moment for each of them. Today, they face another fateful choice, and not only about their career path, but about the way they will go about it. "We are what we choose," says Jeff Bezos.
Dear Graduates,
I want to wish you to make the best choice for your future. Work will take up a large part of your life, and in order to be satisfied, you must believe that it is your best choice. And the only way to do the job you want is to love what you do. If you have not found it yet, keep looking. Do not settle! And like anything that matters, you will know it when you find it. Do not let the noise of others distract you from your inner voice. And more importantly, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. Do not dream, choose a dream and follow it by acting on it.
Whether you know or do not yet know what your passion is, just keep going!
Keep doing something, take advantage of new opportunities, be open to new things. Not everything has to fit exactly into your vision of a perfect job or a perfect life. Perfectionism sometimes bores and makes dreams unreal.
Two facts struck me today in the morning news:
- A portrait of Djokovic adorns the tallest tower in Serbia,
- Artificial intelligence will finish writing an unfinished Beatles song.
For me, it is a vivid expression of the two poles of the modern world. Djokovic's victory is the result of a lot of knowledge, years of experience, undeniable talent and a lot of hard work. The experience of the other members of the Beatles emphasizes the absence of John Lennon and is a test to replace him with artificial intelligence.
Dear graduates, I wish you your faces and achievements to decorate the tallest towers in the world and to use artificial intelligence only as a tool and aid.
Your identity is something you always have to fight for. It is not just about who you are, it is a process in which you must always be active.
I would like to especially congratulate our 58 graduates who complete their studies with an excellent grades. Dear excellent students, you have an even more difficult choice ahead of you. How will you follow this steep path to the top? How will you use your talents? Will you go with the flow or follow your passions? Will you follow the dogma or be unique? Will you choose a quiet life or one full of adventure?
Iconic for our time has become the photo of Mark Zuckerberg, the creator of Facebook, standing in front of a group of people with virtual reality devices on their heads. He is the only resident of the real world and he looks at them, smiling and striding proudly around.
Walk proudly in reality, trust yourself and do not forget this picture.
Dear colleagues,
The academic community has always been a unity of students, faculty and staff. A unity that is for the sake of passing down through the generations the knowledge of the known and the curiosity of the unknown. I want to believe that despite the complex times we live in, this academic spirit marked by free and critical thinking will preserve us.
I believe that we will train many more generations of students. Your extensive professional experience and dedication make Varna Free University a preferred choice for study. I also thank all the staff for their tireless work and responsibility, which are part of the successful running of the educational process.
Dear Graduates of the Class of 2022,
I wish you constant striving for improvement in everything! Follow the principles of humanity towards people who seek your professional care. Be persistent and confident in finding answers and solutions even in difficult situations. Accept this mission with all your responsibility and dedication!

to follow your dreams!
