On the eve of the students' holiday, December 8, the students of Varna Free University Presiyana Popnikolova and Valentin Markov became winners of the "Annual Named Awards of Varna Municipality" for excellent results in education. The awards were presented today by the Mayor Ivan Portnih at a special ceremony.
Valentin Markov, a fourth-year student in International Relations, won an award in the field of Humanities. He has participated in a number of competitions and round tables with his own developments with a focus on history, foreign policy and security. Valentin Markov ranked second in the national student competition "The World between War and Peace".
Presiyana Popnikolova, 5th year student in Law, became the winner in the section “Social, Economic and Legal Sciences.” She is a laureate of the scholarship program “I will study and succeed in Bulgaria.” She is also a winner in the National Student Competition under the patronage of The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bulgaria. She actively participates in round tables organized by the Union of Scientists and has already published a scientific article on "Statehood during a pandemic" in the professional journal "Geopolitics".
This year Varna Municipality awarded six students from Varna universities. "On the eve of December 8, I wish you health above all! Be persistent, creative, inspired to move forward and be proud of your success ", said the mayor of Varna to the students.
