The winners of the scholarship programme of Varna Free University "I will Study and Succeed in Bulgaria" are already known

"And if you still ask yourself why I am going to live in my homeland, my answer is - because as a highly educated person, I will be able to find my professional place. Because I know that Bulgaria needs me. And because I love it," writes in her essay produced in the competition of the scholarship programme of Varna Free University "I will Study and Succeed in Bulgaria" Yana Yordanova from Varna.

 

20 are the winners of the scholarship programme of Varna Free University "I will Study and  Succeed in Bulgaria". Among them are students with excellent results from their secondary school education from the cities of Varna, Sofia, Plovdiv, Burgas, Pleven, Shumen, Montana, Kardzhali, Troyan, Svishtov, Svoge, Byala, Provadia and Kavarna. One of the winners is a graduate of "Hristo Smirnenski" Secondary School in the village of Obrochishte, Dobrich district. The total sum of the one-year scholarships amounts to nearly BGN 55,000.

 

The awarded participants in the competition apply with an essay on "I will Studyand Succeed in Bulgaria".

 

A necessary condition for participation in the programmeis excellent GPA of the participants from their secondary school education which has to be completed in Bulgaria in the2017/2018 school year.

 

The grade point average of the scholarship winners is "Excellent" 5.77. Among the preferred specialties are the state-regulated Architecture, Law and Construction of Buildings and Facilities, as well as the specialties in the professional areas of National Security, Administration and Management, Informatics and Computer Sciences, Music and Dance Art and Fine Arts.

 

For the 2018/2019 academic year Varna Free University announced admissionsby professional areas. The training will go through two levels - basic and profiling. The basic level includes basic disciplines in the professional area. After the basic training, students have the opportunity to choose profiling training by specialties.

 

The advantages of this type of training are related to the time that young people have to get orientated and to build awareness towards their training in the particular specialty in order to make informed choices.

All students who have not ranked for the scholarship programme can use the numerous opportunities for funding their training after the completion of the first semester.

It is an established practice ofVFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" and its Board of Trustees to provide also personal one-year scholarships for socially disadvantaged or outstanding in different areas students, as well as to accept payment of the education costsfrom companies and industry organizations if a post-graduate employment contract is concluded.

The scholarship programme is part of the social mission of the university to support the efforts of young people to enhance their competitiveness in the labour market and to be successful in Bulgaria.
