The course in Japanese language and culture will be taught by Yuko Koike, a volunteer lecturer at the Association for International Intercultural Exchange in the Land of the Rising Sun. She will continue the work of her predecessor, the Japanese language teacher Fumiko Kobayashi, who, in addition to the Japanese characters, spoke charmingly about the beauty of the Japanese culture to seven groups of students, faculty and staff. Students from the fields of International Relations, Architecture, Psychology and Law showed great interest in Japanese.

Rumyana Staneva, a scholarship holder of the Portuguese Cultural and Language Center "Camoes", has been a Portuguese language teacher at the university for three years now. She has a degree in Portuguese language and literature and discovered her calling to teach. Currently, Rumyana Staneva is working on her doctoral dissertation, for which she chose Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar".
The Department of Foreign Language Teaching and Postgraduate Qualification is constantly expanding the range of foreign languages studied, in fulfillment of the strategic task of the University for Internationalization of the education. This increases the competitiveness of the graduates of Varna Free University and gives them the opportunity to include in their professional portfolio proficiency in two or three foreign languages, including some rare ones. The interest in Russian and English is still the strongest.
