The Rector of Varna Free University, Prof. Dr. Petar Hristov, and the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. D. Sc. Yonko Kunchev, held a working meeting with the Director of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior – Varna, Senior Commissioner Krasen Torimatsov, and Deputy Director, Senior Commissioner Daniel Pashov.
During the meeting, specific opportunities for cooperation were discussed, including the participation of students as witnesses during actual investigative procedures, training for Ministry of Interior personnel conducted by lecturers from the Faculty of Law, and practical sessions for students from the
Master's programme in Forensic Expertise at the Basic Scientific and Technical Laboratory of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior – Varna.
The Master's programme in Forensic Expertise prepares specialists with in-depth knowledge of the legal framework, methodology, and practice of expert activities in criminal, civil, and administrative proceedings. The training combines theoretical knowledge with intensive practical preparation conducted jointly with experienced practitioners. Students have the opportunity to specialize in forensic, economic, or psychological expertise, depending on their prior educational qualifications.
A memorandum of cooperation is forthcoming, which will outline the key areas of partnership. Varna Free University affirms its role as an educational and research institution making an active contribution to the professional training and practical development of future legal professionals and experts in the security system.
