The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) signed a partnership agreement with Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar". Signatures to the document were put in the building of the University by its president Assoc. Krasimir Nedyalkov and BTA Director General Kiril Valchev.

This treaty puts a long-standing partnership on a new footing, Valchev said. He noted that so far over the years Varna Free University has been a client of BTA due to paid access in the Agency, but now that the content is free, educational institutions have the right to seek publication of information free of charge. "The contract settles the copyright of the materials and scientific production submitted by the university and the BTA will report in its specialized knowledge and culture section in Bulgarian and English. We hope that in this way we will contribute both to the better awareness in our country and to the attraction of foreign students, especially from the regions outside the country near Varna - Ukraine and Moldova, where BTA has national press clubs, indicated the BTA Director General.
The contract also provides for the possibility of internships for students at the agency in Varna and other cities in the Northeast planning region, Valchev added. He pointed out that the document is a sign that private universities are on equal footing with public ones in the eyes of BTA and the guiding principle is to promote learning and inquiry, which is the motto of Varna Free University. Kiril Valchev gave a jubilee medal and a postage stamp dedicated to the 125th anniversary of BTA to the president of the university wishing to see each other on their 125th anniversary.
The President of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" Assoc. Prof. Nedyalkov pointed out that the partnership between the two institutions is producing results because of the Agency's role in disseminating information. 150 news items related to the university, which currently has 5,000 students have been published there since April 2021. Prospective students are interested in all majors, the most preferred being Law, Psychology, Architecture, Design, Economics, Administration and Management, the University said.
Prof. Lozanov, the director of the "LIK" directorate at BTA, who was present at the ceremony, also shared his excitement at the conclusion of the contract. He taught at Varna Free University in the first years of its establishment. According to him, the mission of the Directorate "LIK" in BTA is to make culture and science an important information priority not only for the Agency, but also for other media. The programme has a hundred publications a day, the director announced. He thinks that science is a difficult subject to cover, but it is very important and has huge potential. "When people learn what scientists do and how the world is developing, it will change their own lives and thinking," noted Prof. Lozanov and expressed hope that the University of Varna will be an important source of information and that its scientific achievements will reach the audience through BTA. "I see that an audience is being created, thirsty for knowledge and there are expectations from the modern media to spread it," said Prof. Lozanov.
BTA representatives visited the University's Educational Media Center, as well as its park, which was created following a student project.
