VARNA FREE UNIVERSITY DEEPENS ITS PARTNERSHIP WITH NINGBO UNIVERSITY
Varna Free University welcomed a delegation from Ningbo University in China, led by Hu Shangui, Dean of the College of International Education. The meeting focused on expanding academic and cultural cooperation between the two institutions and deepening the already established ties.
The representatives of Ningbo University emphasised the dynamic development of their university, which educates over 20,000 students in the fields of economics, engineering, management and arts. They expressed interest in joint educational initiatives, including the inclusion of students from Varna Free University in the programmes of international business and e-commerce, as well as support for the opening of a language centre for Chinese language training in Varna.
During the meeting, it was noted that the similarity between Varna and Ningbo as maritime and economic centres creates a favourable foundation for future partnerships. An important emphasis was placed on the historical ties between Bulgaria and China, which can be upgraded through academic and cultural initiatives.
The discussion was attended by Yani Yanev - Vice President of Varna Free University, Assoc. Prof. Eleonora Tankova, PhD - Deputy Rector, Prof. Teodora Bakardzhieva, PhD - Lecturer at the Department of Computer Science and Boryana Kostova, PhD - Head of the Centre for Foreign Language Training and Postgraduate Qualification.
The meeting ended with mutual confidence that the cooperation will bring benefits not only in the educational and research fields, but also in cultural exchange, laying the foundation for a sustainable and long-term partnership between the two universities.
