Varna Free University is expanding its partnership with NOISE Education of Hristo Rusev

Today, an inspiring public lecture by the world-renowned photographer Hristo Rusev was held at the Faculty of Architecture at Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar,” bringing together students and faculty members. He shared key moments from his professional journey, explained how he began working in photography, and outlined the directions in which he is developing his work today. The meeting emphasized the connection between education, practice, and personal choice in creative professions.

Hristo Rusev is an alumnus of the university, having graduated in International Relations and Law and holds a master’s degree in International Politics and Security. Today, he is also part of the teaching staff. He is among the leading photographers worldwide, ranked in CNN’s top 100, an official photographer for Getty Images in Bulgaria, and the creator of internationally recognized projects. He is the author of a photo album book about the violinist Vasko Vassilev and the photobook “The Last Eternal Mime,” dedicated to Gerasim Dishliev - a student of Marcel Marceau.
Hristo Rusev will participate in the largest alumni meeting of Varna Free University, which will take place on May 23rd , 2026, at 6:30 pm in the university’s Eastern Park.

Varna Free University consistently develops policies to support its graduates and to build a connection between education and professional realization. In this context, the university signed a framework agreement with “NOISE Education” - Hristo Rusev’s academy, which brings together key professionals in the visual arts in Bulgaria. The training model focuses on practice, mentorship, and work on real projects, creating a clear pathway for professional development. The training will be conducted at VFU “Chernorizets Hrabar” and in Sofia.

Among the lecturers in the academy are established names with international experience such as Denis Slav Stoychev, Maral Degati, Rumen Vasilev, and Georgi Toshev, as well as specialists with experience in global media, agencies, and television productions. The programme offers the opportunity to develop a personal visual style and achieve sustainable professional growth. The “NOISE” Foundation, managed by the prominent photographer, creates opportunities for long-term initiatives in the field of visual arts and digital media.
