Varna Free University has announced admissions for the new and unique bachelor's degree Construction Engineering in Bulgaria for the academic year 2024/2025. The degree was created in response to the construction industry's need for civil engineers with practical skills and will be implemented in close cooperation with business.
The training in the specialty lasts four years, in a part time mode, in the Bulgarian language. Internships are provided for the students, which will take place every semester, after the first year, in construction organizations - partners of the university.
Admissions to the specialty is based on the grades from the State Matriculation Examinations or the state exams for acquiring a professional qualification, results from international and national competitions and Olympiads in the field of architecture and construction.
Successfully graduated students receive the professional qualification "Construction Engineer" and can pursue career as construction managers, chief engineers, heads of construction sites, heads of the "Construction" department. They have the opportunity to continue their studies in one of the university's most sought-after master's programmes in Civil Engineering.

With the planned internships in various companies and on construction sites, the students who will study in the "Construction Engineering" specialty have the opportunity to make their choice of employer and career path," said Assoc. Prof. Eng. Daria Mihaleva, PhD - Head of Department of Construction of Buildings and Structures at the Faculty of Architecture of Varna Free University. A day ago, the department sent a notification letter to the Regional Representation in Varna of the Chamber of Builders in Bulgaria - a partner of the university and a member of the Branch Board, about the launch of the new specialty. The possibility of cooperation with new construction companies from the country to conduct student internships and practices, and training of their employees was presented.
