Varna Free University Launches Training in MANAGEMENT AND PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA"
Regulation 2016/679 is the most significant change on data protection in European legislation. The new GDPR regulation, which will come into force on 25 May 2018, concerns all public and private organizations and individuals.
In the context of the forthcoming changes, Varna Free University launches a training in MANAGEMENT AND PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA.
The full training is offered in the form of a specialization course and is intended for those who want to work as data protection officers (DPO). The course deals with: legal, technical and practical aspects of the legal framework and has duration of 120 hours.
The training goes hand in hand with the European legislation on personal data protection, data subjects' rights, e-government in the context of data protection, the use of e-services and risk assessment.
A compulsory part of the specialization course is the research internship, which can be individual or group based on a topic chosen by the students. The specialization course ends with defence of a diploma thesis, which aims to show the practical knowledge of the student acquired during the course.
For the sake of convenience, Varna Free University also provides short-term forms of training in the field of personal data protection - a two-day training suitable for employees in public and private organizations who operate with personal data of clients and/or citizens and specialized seminars on request in the form of business-focused consulting suitable for managers and company owners.
The leading lecturers in the presented trainings are Prof. Petar Hristov, PhD - Dean of the Faculty of Law of Varna Free University and expert in the field of national security, Veselina Spasova, PhD – specialist in informatics and computer science and Assoc. Prof. Dragomir Krastev, PhD - specialist in international relations and law.
The training will also include external practicing experts having a profile that meets the interests and needs of the trainees.
