Two key lecturers from Varna Free University - Corresponding Member Prof. D Sc. Arch. Atanas Kovachev and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Iva Moneva - were awarded certificates for active participation in the work of the National Evaluation and Accreditation Agency at the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria.
Prof. Atanas Kovachev, head of the Architecture and Urban Studies Department, is an established expert with many years of experience in the field of architecture and urban planning, whose contribution to the assessment processes is recognized at the national level. He is a member of the Standing Committee on Technical Sciences at NEAA.
Assoc. Prof. Iva Moneva, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Social, Economic and Computer Sciences, is part of the Standing Committee for Post-Accreditation Monitoring and Control for a second time. She is an expert in the field of higher education in Social, Economic and Legal Sciences.
The participation of the two lecturers from VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" in the commissions emphasizes the role of Varna Free University in maintaining high academic standards.
The National Evaluation and Accreditation Agency is a body under the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria, which supervises the activities of universities and scientific organizations. Accreditation by the agency is a necessary condition for the functioning of higher education institutions in Bulgaria and the individual professional areas in which they conduct training. In addition to accreditation, it also conducts post-accreditation monitoring and quality control of activities.
NEAA is a member of the European Association for Quality in Higher Education. There are a total of 27 representatives of higher schools in the updated structure of the standing committees. For the first time, the number of universities outside the capital city prevails (17 out of 27). 23 state and 4 private universities are represented, one of which is Varna Free University.
