Varna Free University Signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Chinese Nanyang Normal University

Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" signed a memorandum of cooperation with Nanyang Normal University in China. This happened at the Bulgarian-Chinese Rector's Forum held in Sofia, which brought together representatives of 55 Chinese and 20 Bulgarian higher education institutions. VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" was presented by the vice-president Yani Yanev and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eleonora Tankova, vice-rector for institutional cooperation and development.
The forum was organized with the assistance of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China and jointly with the China Education Association for International Exchange. Guests of honor were the Deputy Minister of Education and Science Academician Prof. Nikolay Vitanov and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Bulgaria, H.E. Ms. Dai Qingli. The ambassador emphasized the importance of education and innovation for national development and modernization, and the key role of Bulgaria as a partner of China in Central and Eastern Europe. "In recent years, the universities of the two countries have deepened cooperation and actively promoted a number of projects, such as academic exchange, joint research and mutual visits of professors and students, which have injected new vitality into the development of education in both countries," she said.
Varna Free University has a long tradition of cooperation with key universities in China, including Sanda University, Ningbo Dahongying University, Beijing International Education Institute, Zhujiang Wanli University, Nantong University and Ningbo University of Finance and Economics, as well as Nanyang Normal University. A significant achievement is the joining of VFU Chernorizets Hrabar" to the Industrial-Educational Alliance between China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe this year. Membership opens up new perspectives for the development of joint projects and innovations in the field of industry and education.
Students of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" have the opportunity to study Chinese with a native speaker. Zhang Yu, a teacher from Ningbo University who completed her education in the USA, arrived at the university. Students show interest in the Chinese language and culture course which will start on October 21st. Language training provides a competitive advantage to graduates of Varna Free University - to acquire knowledge important for their future professional realization on the world stage. The international activity of Varna Free University plays a key role in the development of the university as a leading educational institution. Deepening partnerships with Chinese universities not only open up new academic and research opportunities, but also prepare students for the challenges of the global economy and culture.
