Students of Varna Free University majoring in Fashion Design took part in the first edition of the specialized international exhibition for textiles, clothing and fashion TexTailorExpo - Plovdiv 2018. The event took place from 8 to 10 of November at the International Fair in Plovdiv. It was attended by fashion specialists, producers and traders from Turkey, Poland, Romania, Spain, Italy, the Czech Republic and Lithuania.
VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" is one of the universities that were invited to participate in the forum. The students were given a special design space, where modern presentation techniques used in the world's largest fashion exhibitions were applied.
The students of Fashion Design presented innovations and projects in a fashion show on the topic of New Life. The student designs follow the latest trends in sustainability and innovation in fashion. Especially for the show, the future designers have responded to the challenge of using sustainable techniques: redesign, textile recycling, and wasteless design to create garments and complete fashion visions. The materials for the collection were donated by Mod Mari EOOD - Ruse.
Within the framework of the exhibition, Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" presented the educational aspects of fashion design training. In the specially designed exhibition space, the visitors have become familiar with fashion design and styling projects and portfolios of talented future designers.

Allwood, Creative Director of The Trend Bunker, and their supervisor, Assoc. Prof. Kapka Manasieva, PhD participated with a paper on "Educational Challenges Related to the Sustainability of the Fashion Industry" at the branch conference "Trends and Innovations in the Textile and Fashion Industry".
