VARNA FREE UNIVERSITY WELCOMES A DELEGATION FROM THE INTERNATIONAL TARAZ INNOVATIVE INSTITUTE

The distinguished Kazakhstani scientist and statesman Erbolat Saurikov, Doctor of Philology and member of the Committee on International Affairs, Defense and Security of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, visited Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar”. He was accompanied by the Vice President of the International Taraz Innovative Institute Askhat Murat – an IT specialist and representative of the young academic generation in Kazakhstan.

The guests were welcomed by the President of the University Assoc. Prof. Dr. Krasimir Nedyalkov, the Vice President Yani Yanev, the Rector Prof. Dr. Petar Hristov and the Deputy Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eleonora Tankova. During the meeting, opportunities for expanding the partnership between the two higher education institutions were discussed.

The International Taraz Innovative Institute is the youngest and the only private university in the city of Taraz, where over 10,000 students study. During the visit, Askhat Murat presented the technological profile of the institute and emphasized the interest in joint educational projects and events.

The Rector of Varna Free University, Prof. Dr. Petar Hristov, emphasized the active participation of Kazakhstani students and doctoral candidates in the academic community of the university - over 100 people are already alumni, and currently eight doctoral candidates from Kazakhstan continue their studies at the university. The participation of a Bulgarian delegation in the international exhibition Digital Education in Astana in October was also discussed, as well as an upcoming working visit to Taraz.

The cooperation between Varna Free University and the International Taraz Institute has solid foundations. In 2022, lecturers and experts from Kazakhstan visited Varna, where opportunities for work under the Erasmus + programme and other joint educational initiatives were discussed. Then, the Kazakhstani teacher Zhanar Sarkulova – winner of the prestigious Bolashak Presidential Scholarship – successfully completed an internship at Varna Free University as part of a leadership programme in higher education.
