Varna Free University Will Host Training on Countering Human Trafficking

Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" will host a specialized training dedicated to the fight against human trafficking and the identification of victims. The event will be held on March 7th, 2025, at 1:00 pm in Hall 3 of the Academic and Sports Complex and will bring together lecturers and students interested in the problem and the possibilities for counteraction.

Lectures will be delivered by Nikolay Velichkov and Valeria Ivanova - certified trainers and employees of the Rescue Department at A21 Campaign Foundation, as well as operators of the National Hotline to Fight Human Trafficking. They will present current methods for recognizing victims and steps for their rescue.

The training aims at raising awareness on the topic among future specialists in the fields of law, social activities and security, as well as to encourage cooperation between academia and the non-governmental sector.

The A21 Campaign Foundation is an international non-governmental organization committed to the fight against human trafficking and modern slavery. With offices in 19 countries, including Bulgaria, A21 works actively to prevent, identify and support victims through training, campaigns and direct work with victims. The organization also manages the National Anti-Human Trafficking Hotline, which provides free help and support to victims.
