VARNA FREE UNIVERSITY WON FIRST PLACE IN SWIMMING AT THE XXIV VARNA UNIVERSITY GAMES

Blagovest Todorov, a fourth-year student majoring in Crime prevention and public order protection, won a gold medal in the backstroke event at the weekend swimming tournament, part of the XXIV Varna Universiade. Blagovest was also third in the freestyle.
Katerina Kozhuharova, a sophomore majoring in Law, won the bronze in the breaststroke.
In the swimming tournament of the 24th Varna Universiade, VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" was also represented by the students Dilyana Nedelcheva, Valentino Todorov, Darin Stanchev and Georgi Dyulgerov. Their sport efforts and commitment deserve recognition! Katerina, Dilyana and Georgi participate in the Varna Universiade for the second time, proving their commitment both to the university and to sports.
The university's women's basketball team ranked second with the participation of Silvia Petrova, Sofia Gavrilova, Mariela Nikolova, Magi Stoyanova.
A bronze medal was won by the chess team – Alexander Zhelyazkov, Veselin Milenov Georgiev, Georgi Dilgerov, Lilia Petkova, Zlatina Georgieva Georgieva.
Varna Universiade is organized by the Municipality of Varna, the sports units in the universities and the student councils for a 24th year in a row. Students from all the universities in the city will compete in the sports hall, on the stadiums and fields in nine sports: men's and women's volleyball, men's and women's 3x3 streetball, mini football, tennis, swimming, athletics cross, table tennis, chess and bowling.
