Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" took 3rd place in the final complex ranking at the National University Winter Games "Borovets-2015"
Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" took 3rd place in the final complex ranking at the National University Winter Games "Borovets-2015". Over 150 competitors from 21 higher education institutions participated in the state student ski championship - alpine skiing, which was held from 11 to 15 March 2015 in Borovets ski resort.
The alpine ski representative team of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" participated in the competitions after athree-day preparatory camp had been conducted financed by the academic management of the university.
All members of the team contributed to the excellent performance winning prize awards in the disciplines as follows:
- Alpine Skiing National Championship - Giant Slalom discipline - individual, 1st place, women - Stefania Savkova;

- Alpine Skiing Winter University - Giant Slalom discipline - individual, 1st place – women - Asst. Prof. Katerina Chongova;
- Alpine Skiing National Championship - Giant Slalom discipline – individual, 2nd place - men - Nikola Malinov;
Nikola Malinov with four medals
- Fast Sleigh discipline - 2nd place for the team composed of Nikola Malinov and Dilyana Dimova;
- Ski Rally discipline - individual, 2nd place, men Nikola Malinov;
- Snow Relay discipline – 1st place for the team composed of Asst. Prof. Katerina Chongova Nikola Malinov, Dilyana Dimova, Penyo Penev and Yavor Stoilov;
- Cross Country discipline for Winter University – 4th place women Asst. Prof. Katerina Chongova;
- Snowboard - Giant Slalom discipline - Yavor Stoilov participated.
In the final complex ranking the students of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" took the prize 3rd place after the champions of NSA "Vasil Levski" and the representatives of the Southwestern University
