The first event in Bulgaria, which is the result of inter-university interdisciplinary research in the field of science, will be held on October 31, 2019 - on the eve of the Day of the Enlighteners, the founders of Bulgarian education, culture and spiritual make-up, at the White Salon of the Sea Casino in Varna. The event "New Enligheners" is organized by the Research Institute at the Medical University of Varna and Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar".
Under the form of an interactive exhibition, the event will promote science and will make it accessible and interesting for all ages, but above all it aims at intriguing and inspiring young Bulgarians. Some of the images that will be presented were developed during a joint training between experts from the Department of Informatics at Varna Free University and the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the Medical University - for the analysis of biomedical images. The training took place in the beginning of September 2019 in Varna and brought together students with an interest in science, students in computer science and medicine, PhD students and lecturers.
Experts from both universities continue their work on common projects and innovative research practices to come to new scientific breakthroughs.
The event will demonstrate the capacity of the leading Bulgarian universities - Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" and the Medical University "Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov" in the field of computer science and medicine and will attract talented young people from the country and the world to study and develop their scientific careers in Bulgaria.
Images, visualizations, interactive installations, holographic and 3D layouts developed by scientists and students in the fields of medicine, computer science, astronomy, architecture, design, etc. will be displayed. Presentation of the activities of various scientific groups in an unconventional way is being prepared. Leading international research centers and universities are invited to visit and present their exhibits and developments.
