The International Business Conference "Science and Business for Smart Future 2019" was organized for the fourth time by the Faculty of International Economics and Administration, at Varna Free University. The event was opened by the Vice President of the University Yani Yanev. "When business and science go hand in hand, there will always be a "smart "future," commented he. The Vice-President awarded the diplomas to the graduates from the master's degree program Neli Chakarova, who is trained in the first "Data Science" course and Rostislav Dimitrov majoring in "Digital Marketing and Web Design". They studied at Varna Free University with scholarships given by the Danish government. After the experience gained abroad and the contacts and knowledge acquired in the university, they are already successfully operating in leading IT companies in Bulgaria.
A special focus of the conference this year was on scientific and research careers and the development of research teams for business purposes. The visit of students from the Mathematical High School in Varna who said they had an enormous desire to join the research groups and the scientific and research internships at the university in the summer was extremely emotional. The conference also included a group of young researchers participating in the project of the Ministry of Education "IT Careers". During the forum, they would be introduced to representatives of the business.
"We want to attract more school and university students and business representatives to work on research topics, which is the basis of the future career of a person," commented Assoc. Prof. Dr. Galina Momcheva, head of the Department of Informatics at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar". (

The Vice Rector of the Medical University-Varna "Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov "- Prof. Todorka Kostadinova, representatives of the Department of Anatomy and Clinical Biology at the Medical University, the key scientist of 3D breast modeling for the early detection of breast cancer Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Kristina Bliznakova, as well as students in Informatics and Medicine took part in the HealthTech day of the International Business Conference "Science and Business for an Intelligent Future 2019". The VFU team explored the possibilities of applying different algorithms, including using neural networks to expedite the medical image analysis process. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Stoyan Pavlov from the Department of Anatomy and Clinical Biology at the Medical University, Varna, believes that the introduction of such methods in medical practice will speed up the diagnosis process. The inclusion of digital methods and data analysis will allow for the discovery of dependencies that have so far remained vague for researchers, and this will lead to early diagnosis of the disease. "Today, in this hall, we have all the necessary talent to realize the medicine of the future," commented Marin Jelezov, assistant professor at the department. Scientists are convinced that innovation in science can be done when there is a transfer between scientific areas.
Prof. Todorka Kostadinova - Vice Rector of the Medical University - Varna, presented projects in the field of health care in the context of "smart city". She commented that the joint work between the Medical University and Varna Free University is to be further developed. (
