VFU "CHERNORIZETS HRABAR" DEEPENS ITS CONTACTS ON THE AFRICAN CONTINENT

The President of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", Prof. Krasimir Nedyalkov, PhD, visited Nigeria and held a number of meetings related to the deepening of the university's contacts on the African continent.

Assoc. Prof. Nedyalkov held a conversation with Mallam Diko Umaru Rada, PhD, Governor of Katsina State, during which active cooperation in the field of higher education was discussed. The meeting was hosted by the Ambassador of Bulgaria to Nigeria, H.E. Yanko Yordanov. Governor Rada, PhD, expressed the interest of the youth of the Katsina region to study at European universities and acquire European higher education in specialties offered by Varna Free University. The governor promised to provide scholarships, which will be undertaken by Katsina State for Nigerian students studying at VFU “Chernorizets Hrabar”. During the meeting, Prof. Krasimir Nedyalkov presented the first scholarship certificate to Ibrahim Sada, who will start the new academic year as a student at Varna Free University.

VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" took part in the international exhibition entitled Education in Europe, which was held in the city of Lagos, Nigeria. The event, organised by the Delegation of the European Union to Africa, attracted candidates not only from Nigeria but also from Central and West Africa. The exhibition was attended by leading universities from Finland, Germany, France, Hungary and other European countries, as well as by some Bulgarian universities."African youth showed an exceptional interest in education in Bulgaria, in particular at Varna Free University and in the specialties that are studied in English - International Business and Informatics and Computer Sciences, said after his return the head of the Educational Marketing and Candidate Admissions sector Nikolay Dragoev. An extremely positive impression was made by the presence of the president of the university and the ambassador of our country, who was also at the stand to show the support of the diplomatic mission to the universities from Bulgaria.
