VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" launches the project Artificial Intelligence in Education

The Artificial Intelligence in Education project of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" will be launched on October 21, 2024 at 10:30 in Hall 2 of the University's Educational and Sports Complex. The trainings, which will be held in the period from October 21 to 25, will cover 120 pedagogical specialists, lecturers and students. The lectures and practical classes in the field of artificial intelligence and its application in education will be conducted by Simeon Nguyen, director of Cyber360 Academy and penetration tester. The project is part of the Youth Activities 2024 programme of the Municipality of Varna.

Artificial Intelligence in Education project aims at improving teaching and learning through the safe deployment of AI technologies and at addressing the ethical implications of their use in the academic lecture hall or classroom. Project participants will go through a series of trainings in different modules, including: an overview of different AI tools in education; basics of ChatGPT and Gemini, their capabilities and their application in education; DALL-E and similar AI tools for creating visual content; strategies for integrating AI into different academic disciplines.

The topics will focus on practical application and ethical challenges in the use of artificial intelligence. Real examples of successful implementation of AI in schools will be examined, case studies will be analyzed and potential problems and their solutions will be discussed.

The AI ​​in Education project will help teachers, educators and students use AI as a teaching tool without becoming a substitute for learning.


The lecturer Simeon Nguyen graduated in system programming and has been in the IT field for more than 10 years. He holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and is a university lecturer in ethical hacking. He educates employees and companies on how to protect themselves from cyber threats. Last year, Simeon Nguyen was a lecturer at a series of Varna Free University courses on cybersecurity in education, which were met with great interest. The present project is the result of the analysis of the opinions of the participants and their desire to upgrade their knowledge and skills.
