3D-printer, virtual reality glasses, psycho-diagnostics training software, modern building equipment, and educational tools in forensic education are just some of the demonstrations that Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" will show at the Candidate Student Exchange 2019 in Razgrad. The event is organized by the Regional Education Directorate of the town and the Municipality of Razgrad together with the Centre for Student Technical and Scientific Creativity and will be held on 26 and 27 March in the Municipal Cultural Centre.
The Varna Free University will present to the candidate students the innovative curricula for bachelor's and master's degree programmes that prepare young people for the professions of the future.
The candidate student campaign of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" for 2019/2020 academic year starts with admissions in
10 professional areas - Administration and Management, Economics, Economics and Computer Sciences, Psychology , Law, National Security, Architecture, Construction and Geodesy, Visual Arts and Dance Art. There are 20 bachelor's and 47 master's degree programmes in full-time and part-time modes, as well as distance learning. 25 are the majors studied in English or Russian.
The exclusive programmes are developed in partnership with business, branch organizations and local authorities, according to the needs and career prospects for students.
During the exhibition in the capital of Ludogorie, school leavers can get acquainted with the development plans of the university that show in timeline the educational degrees and career prospects. Special attention will be given to the
scholarship programme "I will study and succeed in Bulgaria", which the higher education institution implements for 11
th consecutive year. It enables 20 prospective students to begin their studies at a chosen major and covers 100% of the annual tuition fee in the first year.
Of particular interest are the demonstrations of educational software and modern equipment, which the students of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar"use in their education. The professional area of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy will enable the future specialists to work with thermo-vision camera, to understand how sclerometer can determine the strength of the concrete by applying a non-destructive method, to measure different processes in construction with a hygrometer and a sound meter.
The Department of Informatics will present a natural user interface and will make demonstrations in 3D printing. The Department will invite the best students in the field of information technology and programming to a summer camp BlueCamp2019 @ VFU, which will take place from 13 to 23 June this year and will combine computer technology and biomedical research.
The Department of Psychology will show young people an educational program for psycho-diagnostics and the area of National Security will demonstrate the activities of forensic science.
During the candidate exchange in Razgrad, the prospective students can go for a virtual walk in the specialized offices, halls and on the campus of the university with VR glasses.
The Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" teaches students and PhD students from five continents. In the new academic year, for the first time, the Faculty of International Economics and Administration offers an admissions procedure in
Entrepreneurship and Business after completed secondary education. The bachelor's degree programme is built on the sustainable models of the master's course in
Entrepreneurship. It brought to Bulgaria the best practices of the Silicon Valley lecturers, as well as the rich experience of world-renowned entrepreneurs. Partners of Varna Free University are the leading American and European universities and the Bulgarian Entrepreneurship Center. The first course of 31 masters received individual scholarships from entrepreneurs from Silicon valley, who are also mentors of the students. Since after the first semester, the programme participants have already launched their own business projects inspired by the training at VFU. Theprospective students from the bachelor's degree programme in
Entrepreneurship and Business will receive free access to some of the educational resources, individual attention and training, and the opportunity to graduate in a second major.
The Business Administration and Management major, with profiles International Business Management and Tourism Management, is offered in full-time, part-time or distance modes of learning.
Sport Management is a new programme intended for active athletes or athletes who have finished their sports careers . The programme was developed as a profile of the bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management, as well as independently in a master's degree.
Extremely high interest arouses the
master's degree programme in Circular Economy, which is
synergy between knowledge, skills and good practices in building specialists for the sustainable development of municipalities, business, the future of Europe and Bulgaria. It is carried out under the auspices of the Directorate-General for the Environment of the European Commission. The programme considers the key priority for our
country in the field of environment - resource efficiency, sustainable development and sustainable growth.
The interest in
Law, National Security and
Psychology is traditionally high. For years, VFU students have been at the forefront of magistrate competitions announced by the Ministry of Justice. For the new academic year, the Faculty of Law of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" adds to its portfolio also a master's degree programme in
English in Law and Security, which is entirely focused on international practice.
A new master's degree programme will also be launched in the professional area of National Security –
the major in Intelligent Security Systems will offer the profiles Systems for Monitoring and Security Management and Organizing the Bodies, Forces and Means in Case of Disasters, Accidents and Catastrophes. The courses in the curriculum of the master's degree programme in
Cyber Security cover programs related to security management, cyber crime, and security testing. The Black Sea Academy of Security is to be launched with leading world experts from Israel, Bulgaria and Europe. The training of students in the programme in
Data Science, which offers specialized training on topical issues of computer sciences in accordance with international, European and national criteria, is conducted in English in full-time, part-time or distance learning modes.

During the past year Varna Free University has carried out more than
1,100 student placements, as 91% of the mentors declared readiness to appoint practitioners as soon as they graduate, and 154 young specialists received a proposal to stay at work. During their studies, students have the opportunity to participate in various student mobility and academic exchange programmes, learning practices, internships, competitions and trainings.
