VFU "CHERNORIZETS HRABAR" WILL ENRICH COOPERATION WITH AFYON KOCATEPE UNIVERSITY IN TURKEY

Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" welcomed lecturers from Afyon Kocatepe University. Fatih Ozdinc, Onur Uludag, Cahit Erdem and Fatih Güngör are visiting as part of a bilateral Erasmus + programme agreement signed a month ago with the Turkey's leading university. Yesterday the lecturers had a working meeting with Prof. Galina Shamonina, PhD - Secretary General of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar", where the possibilities for cooperation between the two universities were discussed. The signing of a partnership agreement for the organization of an international academic exchange, for the development and implementation of joint educational programmes, research and projects in the field of education, science and publishing is forthcoming. The guests showed strong interest in the preparatory courses in Bulgarian and English offered by Varna Free University, as well as in the training in psychology, architecture, construction of buildings and structures and information technology.
Afyon Kocatepe University was founded on 3 July 1992 and began its educational activities on 10 November 1992 in Afyonkarahisar, a province in Western Turkey. The history of the university dates back to 1974 with the Afyonkarahisar School of Finance and Accounting, a branch of the Eskisehir Academy of Economics and Trade. The university has 12 faculties and departments, works with over 200 partner universities of the Erasmus + programme, including those in Africa, Russia, Belarus and Ukraine.
 
On 21 May, the guests from our southern neighbour, who are lecturers of English and information technology, will introduce their colleagues from the Department of Foreign Language Teaching and Postgraduate Qualification to the methods of teaching a foreign language at Afyon Kocatepe University. A meeting is forthcoming at the Department of Informatics.
Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" has partnerships with eight universities in our southern neighbour.
