Positive psychology in education was presented by Prof. Rumen Stamatov - lecturer at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" during the Third International Educational Forum "Innovative Educational Environment Through the Prism of Emotional Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence - Directions and Challenges", which is held in Varna. The event, organized by the Municipality of Varna, Directorate "Education and Youth Activities", in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Science and the National Association of The Municipalities in Republic of Bulgaria, was attended by the Vice-Rector of the Varna Free University, Assoc, Prof. Dr. Eleonora Tankova, and the Secretary General, Nikolinka Daskalova. Guests at the forum were the Minister of Education and Science Prof. Galin Tsokov, Krasimir Valchev - Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Science and Education, representatives of the national and local authorities, universities and educational institutions from the region of Varna.
Prof. Stamatov's presentation provoked extraordinary interest in the participants and guests of the forum. Prof. Stamatov talked about the social competences of students in the process and digitalization - the influence of positive psychology in the construction of positive education. VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" as a scientific institution, in partnership with the Municipality of Varna, supports education with scientific concepts and practices. At the heart of Prof. Stamatov's innovative approach is placing the psychological well-being of children at the center of the educational system. This has an impact on their psychological health, and on the other hand, it supports their academic success, the way they cope with various challenges and helps to increase the results.
Prof. Stamatov also presented the practice, which was implemented for the first time in different classes of Geo Milev Secondary School Varna, as well as the effects and results of its implementation. The programme uses the strengths of students, teachers and their parents. Options to build an integrated approach that would encompass the family and the school to ensure children's satisfaction and well-being were commented on. A desire to be written new textbooks and teaching aids, in which the well-being of students living in the era of digitization, maximum mobility and speed of processes was expressed during the discussion.
A lot of educational organizations and schools from Varna and the country have already shown interest in Prof. Stamatov's presentation.
