WOMEN'S ENTREPRENEURSHIP CENTRE WILL OPERATE AT VARNA FREE UNIVERSITY

24 February 2020
A Women's Entrepreneurship Centre is due to open at Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” on 26 February 2020. The purpose of the centre is to train and assist young women (up to 34 years) from Bulgaria and neighboring countries in starting and developing their own businesses. It is created under the WOMEN IN BUSINESS project Fostering the Young Women Entrepreneurship in the Danube Region, co-financed by the INTERREG Danube Transnational Programme.

The syllabuses and the online platform for the training of the Women's Entrepreneurship Centre will be presented at a press conference on 26 February 2020, at 10:30 am in Hall 3 of the University's Educational and Sport Complex. Representatives from universities, business support organizations and non-governmental organizations from 9 countries in the Danube Region will take part in the event.

The pilot training starts on 28 February and will involve 25 women from Bulgaria, Moldova and Ukraine. The training sessions, which are in-person and online, cover three groups of young women entrepreneurs:
  • Beginners will understand what it is like to be an entrepreneur, what are the first steps to achieving it - through marketing courses, digital and social skills, and more.
  • The second group of participants is those who have their own business.
  • Ladies who have had a successful business for at least three years will also receive expert advice on specific topics.
The training will be conducted by top experts and successful students from the master's degree programmes in Entrepreneurship and Digital Marketing and Web Design at Varna Free University, as well as prominent experts from Austria, Germany, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and others.
The trainings are free of charge and in the next stages all persons aged 16 to 34 who have an interest in entrepreneurship can enroll.
