YOU CAN APPLY TO THE MASTER'S DEGREE PROGRAMMES PROTECTION OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND COUNTERACTION TO CYBERCRIME AT THE ACADEMY OF THE MINISTRY OF INTERIOR AND VFU "CHERNORIZETS HRABER"

Two new joint master's degree programmes tailored to the needs of the labour market start the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" this autumn. The new specialties Protection of Human Rights and Counteraction to Cybercrime have been developed by the Police Faculty of  at the Academy and the Faculty of Law at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" and correspond to the European standards, the development of technologies and the needs of personnel.

In the Master's degree programme Protection of Human Rights, students will acquire broad-based and interdisciplinary training on fundamental human rights, the practice of national and international jurisdictions in this field, domestic and comparative European and international regulation of fundamental rights, as well as on the specific mechanisms for their protection.

The programme Counteraction to Cybercrime will provide students with knowledge and practical skills to react to this type of crime by studying disciplines related to cybersecurity legislation and the organizational, tactical and international aspects of cooperation in this field.
The educational process, in which lecturers from the two higher educational institutions will take part, will be flexible and adaptable to the needs of the students. It will include new digital educational content, electronic resources and cloud technologies. The in-person classes during the first semester will be held in the Faculty of Police at the Academy. The training is part-time in two semesters and ends with a state exam or thesis defense. The annual tuition fee is BGN 550.

Those wishing to study in the new joint master's degree programmes can apply until September 30, 2022, by submitting documents to the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in person or by courier. Candidates for both new specialties will sit a test in the field of National Security on October 5, 2022, in the Academy's main building. Classes begin on October 31, 2022.

The development of the new curricula is part of the project BG05M2OP001-2.016-0023 "Improvement and Modernization of the Educational Infrastructure of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Partnership with Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", University of Architecture, Construction and Geodesy, Medical Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs". The project was financed under the Operational Programme "Science and Education for Smart Growth" 2014-2020, procedure BG05M2OP001-2.016 "Modernization of Higher Education Institutions". The beneficiary of the project is the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It is worth BGN 1,918,184.40, and its is deadline of 31.12.2023.
