Polina Galinova, a second-year student in Psychology at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", became the Balkan runner-up at the Balkan best fighters international kickboxing tournament in the Serbian town of Jagodina. The event, which is under the auspices of the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations WAKO, was attended by 374 athletes from Bulgaria, Serbia, Northern Macedonia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Moldova and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Our girl won a silver medal in the women's 60 kg weight category. She declared participation in the weight category of up to 56 kg. in K-1 style, but due to the withdrawal of the other competitors in this scheme, she was transferred to low kick style in a higher weight category. However, she performed excellently in the match with the world champion from Serbia.
"I am pleased with my performance! I wish all lecturers and students fromVFU" Chernorizets Hrabar" happy holidays! Let them do sports, because sport is health!", said Polly, immediately after she returned to Bulgaria.
Polina Galinova is a two-time world kickboxing champion for juniors and cadets. The psychology student competes for SC "Shumen Fortress". Since 2016 she has been part of the national kickboxing team of Bulgaria. Her coach is her father - Galin Metodiev.
Polina chose to study Psychology to better understand the behavior of her opponents on the field. (watch the video ►).
