
The branch of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" in Smolyan opened the academic year 2025/2026 with a student competition on the topic "Global Problems of Modernity in the Context of the Green Transition". The event brought together first-year students, faculty, representatives of business, institutions and the local community and focused on the challenges of the energy transition and the role of young people in sustainable development.

Students from the Master's program "International Business Project Management" received certificates for successfully completing a course dedicated to the work of the European institutions and EU priorities. The certificates were awarded by MEP and Deputy Chair of the Legal Affairs Committee in the EP, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emil Radev

In October, the department of civil law sciences of varna free university "Chernorizets hrabar" organises a series of public lectures and presentations of scientific publications with the participation of lecturers from the university.

The ceremony at the VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" campus in Varna will be held on 29 September (Monday) at 10:00 am in the East Park of the university. At the Smolyan Branch – on 27 September (Saturday) at 9:00 am in the Bulgaria Hall in the Rhodope city.

Varna Free University welcomed a delegation from Ningbo University in China, led by Hu Shangui, Dean of the College of International Education.

Assoc. Prof. Maria P. Petrova, PhD - Head of the Department of Civil Law, has been elected as a member of the Management Board, and Prof. Teodora Bakardzhieva, PhD - Lecturer at the Department of Computer Science, will be part of the Control Board.

The Formula 3 star Nikola Tsolov was a special guest at the stand of Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” during the TECHNOSTART exhibition, organised by ICT Cluster Varna at the entrance to the Sea Garden in Varna.

Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" will actively participate in the third edition of "TECHNOSTART - Varna" with demonstrations and workshops that will present the possibilities of digital technologies and artificial intelligence.

Prof. Dr. Dobrinka Chankova - lecturer in the Law department at the Varna Free University, was honored for her active research and teaching activities.
