
Maria Koleva, a psychology student, brought a bronze medal to the university in swimming, in the 100m backstroke, and the football team received recognition as the "most correct team" of the games.

Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” and the Union of Bulgarian Journalists (UBJ) are organizing a masterclass “The Art of Communication”, which will take place on September 2nd–3rd, 2025, at the International House of Journalists near Varna.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Viktor Petkov, lecturer in Graphic Design at Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar,” will present his original interpretations in the “Chaiki Art” platform during the third edition of the Chaiki Festival. The event, organized by the Pontica Foundation, will take place on August 30th in the park of the Asparuhovo region and will become a stage for independent spirit and artistic inspiration.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ofelia Kaneva, lecturer at Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar,” is the producer of the documentary Not Just One Dream, which will premiere on August 27th at Club Gramophone in Sofia. The film, directed by Boryana Nikolova, tells the stories of the dreams and strength of children in disadvantaged situations, breaking the stereotypes and stigma surrounding them.

Four students from Varna Free University will take part in the first edition of the photography festival “In Focus”, which will be held in Varna from September 3rd–6th, 2025. The event brings together nine Bulgarian and international documentary photographers, photojournalists, journalists, visual artists, and 35 young photographers, united under the festival’s theme “Inside – Outside View.” The festival programme includes presentations of photographic projects by guest authors, a roundtable and discussion panels open to the public, as well as three photo exhibitions that visually interpret and expand on the festival’s theme.

Two trainee lawyers chose the Varna District Court to complete their mandatory six-month legal internship in August. Bilyana Abrasheva and Hristina Ruseva are graduates in Law from Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar.”

The Dean of the Faculty of Law at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" Prof. D. Sc. Yonko Kunchev and Assoc. Prof. Stefko Burdzhiev - Head of the Department of Public Order and Security at the Faculty of Law at the university held a meeting with 140 police officers at the Center for Specialized Police Training in Varna.

Ilyaz Ilyaz, a third-year student majoring in Architecture at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", returned from his Erasmus semester, which he spent at one of the most prestigious technical universities in Europe - Politecnico di Milano, which this year is in the TOP100 of universities in Europe.
